Building Schools for the Future Leadership Programme

The Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Leadership Programme supports local authorities and school leaders as they enter into the BSF Capital Investment Programme.
The programme draws on the knowledge of a range of professionals, including national agencies and industry, all of whom have been extensively involved in the BSF Capital Investment Programme, new builds or major change programmes.

- BSF Leadership Programme provides timely advice so that leaders can plan their input to the BSF process at appropriate points to achieve maximum impact.
- Local authorities involved in the BSF Capital Investment Programme will be invited to take part in the BSF Leadership Programme. Schools to be involved in the programme will have been chosen and approached by their local authorities.
- The programme provides timely support for school leaders to develop the unique skill set required to inform and strategically lead transformation of learning throughout this investment programme.
- The final phase of the programme is a two-day, conference-style event where up to five local authorities join together, giving leaders the opportunity to collaborate and share emerging practice.
Duration
Two academic terms.
Delivery method
A range of learning approaches is used: facilitated training, face-to-face sessions, a one-day facilitated face-to-face session and online resources and tools.
Who can apply?
Selected local authorities involved in the BSF Capital Investment Programme will be invited to apply for the programme. Delegates will include: local authority representatives, headteachers and senior leaders, including deputy and assistant headteachers, heads of departments, governors, school business managers and subject leaders.
