Costs of CSBM

Financial contribution notice update

Costs for the Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM) depend on your circumstances. From April 2012, the contribution amount required for CSBM will increase to £400. All participants (or their employees) will be required to pay  £300, plus any expenses. You will incur additional charges if you do not turn up to a workshop in which you have agreed to attend. Small schools are exempt from this fee in line with College small schools policy.

This is not a Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) training scheme to improve the employment prospects of claimants; rather it is aimed at training SBMs for the maintained sector. The onus is placed on the applicant to ensure that embarking on this programme will not affect benefit claims

Charging policy for independent and overseas schools

Independent and overseas participants will be informed of payment arrangements shortly after the closing date of the application round. Payment in full will be required before the participant attends the first event, unless there are exceptional circumstances, which will be determined on an individual basis by the College.

Supply cover

The National College will not meet supply cover costs.

Repeating face-to-face events

Funding for participants who wish to repeat modules they have already completed will not be paid for by the National College. Participants will be expected to fund themselves for repeated modules based on the costs in the below table. This includes instances where participants defer or withdraw after undertaking a module but have not completed the associated work and need support to complete it.

For details about costs for participants who started the programme before April 2011 please contact the SBM team at sbm@nationalcollege.org.uk.
