This report, written by the Centre of Equity in Education,  provides a framework for understanding social inclusion, government policy and school leadership practices. It defines social inclusion in terms of access, recognition and meaningful participation.

Using a number of theoretical ideas and approaches, it provides a way of understanding not only how social inclusion/exclusion can be defined in terms of access, recognition and meaningful participation issues (‘equity’) but also how particular inclusion/exclusion perspectives are defined, developed, privileged and used (‘knowledge’) with regards to equity issues.
