Every Child Matters changed the educational landscape. Instead of focusing simply on learning and attainment, it broadened schools' remit to include true achievement, tying well-being and standards together to provide a more rounded experience and improve life chances for all. This guide examines how leaders are translating this policy into schools on a daily basis.
It discusses each of the ECM outcomes, looking at what the seemingly simple aims mean, how they can be applied in school and what difference they make.
