This research report explores the effects of Appraisal and Performance Management (APM) on standards of learning, teaching and leadership. It summarises the findings of interviews with leaders, teachers and other staff, carried out during 2005 in four secondary schools.
The research considers the impact of the five key areas of performance management: lesson observation, baseline data, target setting, CPD and objective setting.
