This research investigates the structure and practice of primary headteacher induction. It concludes that a well designed framework, which incorporates and appreciates the various contextual issues of primary schools, can be a great benefit.
Such a benefit will be felt by both the headteacher and the school as they work together to improve strategic opportunities and outcomes. The research also found that an effective framework draws on a variety of documents, professional development activities and key personnel. This summary report presents the key findings.
