Research associate Kevin Bullock explores perceptions of the significance of emotional intelligence (EI) amongst primary headteachers and children centre managers, a large proportion of whom were deemed by Ofsted as 'outstanding' in their most recent inspection..
The author found that aspects of EI which were viewed as particularly important for being able to:
- a rise above personal difference
- a bounce back from difficult situations/experiences
- deal with other people's anger effectively
- spot unrest/anxiety/anger swiftly and respond appropriately
