Children's centre leaders: leading the system - knowledge capture event

Four workshops were held during the Leading the System event in March 2009. These workshops were run by children's centre leaders and they shared outcomes of their work. This report provides full details of the workshops, including the corresponding case studies and reflection points.

The event was a joint initiative between Together for Children and the National College for School Leadership. This event brought together children's centre leaders from across the country to share their professional knowledge, to learn from each other and to celebrate the groundbreaking work that they are facilitating and leading within their local communities.

This booklet contains four case studies that reflect some of this practice across the country. Each of the four leaders, showcased in the case studies, led a workshop at the event to share some of the outcomes of their work and to engage other children's centre leaders in sharing their practice for the benefit of the system. The learning from these workshops is also presented here.
