Examines the effects of the 11-19 curriculum reforms on school development and leadership. Key learning includes: learning from other schools to determine your own direction; distributed leadership through three tiers; success rested on the actions of senior leaders simultaneously to inspire and empower; the identification and appointment of a strong project leader at the start of the planning process was important for change leadership to occur; members of the project group were enthusiastic about recapturing a sense of themselves as learners, and this was a significant factor that drove the programme forward.
