Benefits of EAP
Equal Access to Promotion (EAP) enables you to develop a deeper sense of professional satisfaction in your current role. It also cultivates the motivation and confidence to take on a more substantive leadership role in the future.
It is intended that EAP will:
- increase participant motivation and confidence to take on a more substantive leadership role in the future
- develop a deeper sense of professional satisfaction in participants’ current roles
- support the participant to demonstrate the impact of their learning in the school setting
- emphasise the importance of proactive, self-directed learning
- encourage active participation in their community and within the wider education agenda

By the end of the programme participants should be able to:
- search out opportunities to take on more senior school leadership positions
- raise the profile of BME school leaders and become an advocate for the EAP programme
- negotiate future engagement with national leadership development opportunities relevant to their leadership position, for example, Leading from the Middle, Leadership Pathways, and NPQH.
- attend and potentially contribute to regional/national events
- contribute to wider education system dialogue
EAP makes a positive contribution to participants' schools in terms of school improvement and school leadership.
