Benefits of EAP

Equal Access to Promotion (EAP) enables you to develop a deeper sense of professional satisfaction in your current role. It also cultivates the motivation and confidence to take on a more substantive leadership role in the future.

It is intended that EAP will:

  • increase participant motivation and confidence to take on a more substantive leadership role in the future
  • develop a deeper sense of professional satisfaction in participants’ current roles
  • support the participant to demonstrate the impact of their learning in the school setting
  • emphasise the importance of proactive, self-directed learning
  • encourage active participation in their community and within the wider education agenda

"They have transformed. I think he has greater self belief and ambition as a result", Headteacher of EAP graduate.

By the end of the programme participants should be able to:

  • search out opportunities to take on more senior school leadership positions
  • raise the profile of BME school leaders and become an advocate for the EAP programme
  • negotiate future engagement with national leadership development opportunities relevant to their leadership position, for example, Leading from the Middle, Leadership Pathways, and NPQH.
  • attend and potentially contribute to regional/national events
  • contribute to wider education system dialogue

EAP makes a positive contribution to participants' schools in terms of school improvement and school leadership.
