Awarding credits: information for higher education institutions
The National College has worked with the Universities Council for the Education of Teachers (UCET) to explore how to develop partnerships with higher education institutions (HEIs). We have initially identified 11 of our programmes for which we would like participants to be able to secure Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS) points, to reflect the experience and skills that they gain.
Awarding credits towards Master's level degrees
Several HEIs have agreed in principal to offer CATS/credit points for participants on the agreed programmes. We would like to work with HEIs to increase the number of institutions offering CATS points for participants.
While many HEIs are likely to provide Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS) points for learning on National College programmes, the HEIs that we are working in partnership with already have processes in place to do so. Details of those HEIs are made available to our participants so that they can secure CATS points easier.
For information about the selected programmes and which HEIs have already agreed to offer CATS points for them, please see the Higher education partners page.
If you would like to work with the National College in awarding credits towards Master's level degrees, please complete the Partnership form, stating which programmes you would like to support.
