Primary executive headship

The role of executive headteacher, or headteacher of more than one school, has become more common in recent years. School leaders have led the system in exploring and developing new and different patterns of school organisation and leadership in response to changing contexts.

To provide professional development opportunities for primary executive heads, the National College has developed the Primary Executive Headteacher (PEH) provision, which after three successful pilot cohorts in 2010, has now been licensed to the Centre for Educational Leadership, University of Manchester, to deliver nationally from October 2011.

Further information about the provision can be found on the PEH web pages.
