Research and policy

Research on leadership within our schools and early years settings, as well as in wider children’s services, is vital to our understanding of how leaders are best able to support their staff to provide the best possible environment for children to learn, achieve and make the most of their talents.

This research enables us to gather high quality evidence which we are able to share with leaders and those who are thinking about taking on leadership roles in a variety of settings.

It also enables us to share this same vital evidence with Ministers and other government officials, as they develop their policies on education, early years and other areas of children’s services.

Policy can develop at a fast rate so, as well as information about key areas of leadership research, these pages aim to keep our members as up to date as possible with developments within education and children’s services.
