Well-being and the whole child: leading across the children's workforce

Children's Workforce Development Council

22–23 February 2010, Hilton Metropole, Birmingham

The first national Well-being and the whole child event, hosted by the National College in partnership with the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC), offered a ground-breaking opportunity to address the pressing issue of the well-being of children, young people and their families in the early 21st century.

Leaders and practitioners from across all sectors, including education, health and social care, heard examples of current thinking, took part in debate, and shared best practice on how to help children and young people achieve happier, healthier, safer and more prosperous lives.

Keynote speeches and challenging conversations with conference speakers offered delegates the opportunity to debate with and learn from those who work within the children’s workforce in partnership with families. Interactive and practical workshops offered the chance to build new relationships with peers from other sectors, and to find new ways to nurture and protect current and future generations.
