Our mission

The National College exists to develop and inspire world-class leaders with the talent and vision to give children and young people the best start in life. We do this by:

• developing and supporting the next generation of principals, headteachers and other senior leaders to ensure great leadership for our schools, now and in the future
• providing a range of leadership development programmes and support that gives leaders the opportunity to be the best they can be
• harnessing the skills and energy of the best leaders so that they can drive improvement beyond their own schools and organisations

Our international work builds on our success in England. We work with education ministries, universities, higher education institutions, schools and the private sector to develop and support sustainable approaches to school leadership development across the world.

Our base in England

Our base in Nottingham, central England, is a purpose-built learning and conference centre. Opened in 2002, it is the focus of our busy conference and training programme, and offers conference and meeting facilities for up to 250 delegates, including 90 comfortable and modern bedrooms. With its lakeside setting and landscaped surroundings, it provides a truly relaxing and inspirational environment.
