National Professional Qualification for Headship

We are working in partnership with British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) to offer you the opportunity to participate in the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), which will be delivered internationally.

NPQH has been designed for passionate, highly motivated people who are focused on becoming a headteacher within the next 12–18 months.

The programme will be delivered in Dubai and it is likely the first assessment and development event will commence in late May or early June.

Who can apply?

You must be a BSME member who aspires to be a headteacher in the next 18 months and has the full support of your line manager. In addition the programme is open to existing headteachers who feel they would benefit from the NPQH programme. Existing headteachers may wish to discuss the suitability for the programme by emailing npqh-bsme@nationalcollege.org.uk.

What’s involved?

NPQH is a personalised programme based on your individual development needs. You can access a range of opportunities including learning materials, placements, coaching and online resources.

Duration

9–12 months, depending how close you are to headship.
