Leader stories: Sarah Oliver

You will need to download and install a more recent version of the Flash Player to access the National College audio player.

Sarah Oliver is deputy head at Cuckoo Hall Primary School in Edmonton, north London, under the leadership of Patricia Sowter.

She has been in the role since 2004 and manages 35 teaching staff and 55 associate staff. She oversees the day-to-day leadership and management of the school and has developed a Masters programme for staff at the school. She says change has been central to her role in terms of a recent change of school status to a Foundation and then a Trust School. Sarah is fluent in Welsh and every spring cheers loudly for 15 Welsh men in red jerseys chasing an oval ball. She says it was an easy decision to join her current school in Edmonton because she arrived at a time in her career when she was keen for a new challenge.
