In this video, school governor Clare Collins talks about successful recruitment. She discusses issues such as how to attract the right candidate, make an attractive job offer, plan the selection process, explore a wider talent pool, and sources of advice and support.

Clare has been a school governor since 1991 and has gained extensive experience of governance through her roles as a co-opted, additional and local authority governor. She is currently Chair of the governing body of a primary school, as well as Chair of a temporary governing body of a large community secondary school. Clare was a founder member of the independent West Sussex Governors' Association, where she continues to serve as a committee member. Clare was elected to the National Governors' Association (NGA) board in 2002, and became Vice Chair in 2003. She was elected as NGA Chair in December 2008.
