Models of leadership networking opportunities

A range of opportunities exist for school leaders and governing bodies to exchange leadership knowledge and practice about new models of leadership. Details about these opportunities - events, online discussions and advice from National College consultants - can be found here.

Events

The National College organises and promotes a range of events related to new models of leadership throughout the year.

Practical approaches to models of leadership events

These nine regional events took place between September and November 2009. The events offered four practical workshops and the opportunity to network with members of staff from schools and local authorities.

The regional events were very well received, with comments from delegates including: "Really liked the format of the day, choice and flexibility, more please" and "This was an excellent day – thank you".

Online discussions

All over the country and in all types of schools, people have been exploring the use of different models of leadership. You can learn with them.

The National College's online communities offer opportunities to talk to people about alternative models of leadership. As well as working practitioners sharing their learning and experiences, the National College consultants are also available to offer advice to those considering new leadership models and to those already going through change. When you join a community you will be able to talk online in person or just listen in on what others are discussing to inform your thinking. There are also regular online seminars.

Models of leadership consultants

The National College has a number of advisers who can discuss new models of leadership with you and help you to choose the right model for your context. This service is free of charge.
