Leading extended provision
To address the five Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes for children’s health, safety, achievement, social contribution and economic wellbeing, schools must work as part of multi-agency teams. As a result, our understanding of what constitutes a 'school' and the role of the school leader is changing. Schools are moving from being sole deliverers of services to becoming brokers and advocates. This section explores the issues associated with developing extended services and working within a multi-agency model.
