You or the school will be invoiced for the programme (the current charge is £3,500) |
| Not working within a school, but looking to work in a state-funded school | Funding will be paid for the participant, however a contribution of £400 is required for the induction workshop. Once you accept your place you will be booked onto the workshop and will incur a cancellation charge of £150 if you cannot attend. |
| All funded special schools (those that are independent still receive help or support from their local authorities) | Funding will be paid for the participant |
| Overseas maintained schools eg armed forces schools teaching the national curriculum | Funding will be paid for the participant |
| Unemployed | Funding will be paid for the participant if the participant intends to work in the maintained sector as a school business manager (SBM). A contribution of £400 is required for the induction workshop. Once you accept an aspiring place, you will be booked onto the workshop and will incur cancellation charges if you wish to withdraw with less than one week's notice. This is not a Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) training scheme to improve the employment prospects of claimants, but is aimed at training SBMs for the maintained sector. The onus is placed on the applicant to ensure that embarking on this programme will not affect benefit claims. |
Charging policy for independent and overseas schools
Independent and overseas participants will be informed of payment arrangements shortly after the closing date of the application round. Payment in full will be required before the participant attends the first event, unless there are exceptional circumstances, which will be determined on an individual basis by the College.
Supply cover
The College will not meet supply cover costs.
Funding for repeat face-to-face events
Funding for participants who wish to repeat phases they have already completed will not be paid for by the National College. Participants will be expected to fund themselves for repeated modules based on the costs in the below table. This includes instances where participants defer after completing a phase but have not completed the associated work and need support to complete it.
| Programme | Phase 1 cost | Phase 2 cost | Phase 3 cost | Phase 4 cost | Phase 5 cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ADSBM | £250 | £550 | £900 | £900 | £900 |
