Associate Academy Principal Programme

The Associate Academy Principal Programme (AAPP) gives aspirant academy principals the skills and confidence to take on the role of principal. The programme comprises face-to-face development days, a placement within an academy and mentoring from an experienced principal.
Who can apply?
You must have experience in senior leadership and aspire to become an academy principal in the next 12–24 months.

What's involved?
Six two-day face-to-face development sessions, a placement at a local academy, tailored to suit your context and situation, and the support of an experienced principal through mentoring.
Duration
The programme is run annually from September to the following July. Session dates for the upcoming cohort are now available.
Cost
Face-to-face development sessions and mentor support are fully subsidised by the National College, although you will be required to cover your own travel costs.
