Leadership Pathways

Leadership Pathways offers senior school leaders practical access to the latest in leadership thinking and school practice, which will benefit their schools as well as them as individuals.

The programme seeks to build on experience that participants have developed in middle leadership and via National College programmes such as Leading from the Middle, Equal Access to Promotion and Teaching Leaders. It can also help support those aspiring to take part in the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

  • Leadership Pathways is aimed at senior leaders or those aspiring to a senior leadership position in the next one to two years.
  • Participants will be supported by a coach usually based within their school setting
  • Leadership Pathways provides future NPQH applicants with relevant development opportunities around whole-school leadership.

Leadership Pathways is a self-directed learning programme that enables participants to choose their own pathway to leadership learning. It is designed to be flexible to suit individuals' contexts and needs with emphasis on work-based learning and application.

Who can apply?

Senior leaders or those aspiring to a senior leadership position in the next one to two years. Priority will be given to applications from senior leaders who are members of the senior leadership team within an educational establishment.
